If Your Sewing Machine Runs Slow

sewing machine runs slowRunning Slow
If your sewing machine runs slow, the first step to take is to make sure your machine is properly lubricated.  Using your instruction manual, locate the oiling points of your sewing machine.  Using a high grade white sewing machine oil, lubricate each oiling point with 1 or 2 drops of oil.  Unthread the sewing machine and run at high speed for a few seconds to distribute the oil.

Noise / Running Slow
If thread becomes trapped in the shuttle raceway, it will cause your sewing machine to run slow and make noise.  To repair this problem, remove the shuttle and clean the raceway with a soft cloth or lint brush.  Place a drop of oil on a q-tip and lubricate the race of the shuttle, then place the shuttle back into the machine.
